What do Gwen Stefani, Jessica Biel, Reese Witherspoon, Julianne Moore, Anne Hathaway and Beatrice Borromeo have in common? As brides, they weren’t afraid to think pink on their wedding evening maxi dress, donning dresses that run the gamut from dusty rose to brighter shades of the girly shade.
On July 25, Beatrice married Monaco royal Pierre Casiraghi in a civil ceremony at the Pink Palace, wearing the pale-pink bespoke Valentino gown that was just one in a carousel of four looks she’d don for various festivities over the weekend – from garden party to boating brunch.
But Beatrice wasn’t the first blushing bride. Jessica Biel said “I do” to Justin Timberlake in a spectacularly romantic ceremony in Puglia, Italy, back in 2012. As Justin serenaded his sweetheart down the aisle, the crowed surely couldn’t help but gasp at her beauty – and that of her faintly floral-patterned Giambattista Valli gown.
In a less subtle nod to the hue 10 years earlier, Gwen Stefani married Gavin Rossdale in a custom ombre gown by John Galliano for Christian Dior, which faded from a white bodice to a bright-coral skirt. The iconic gown was even part of an exhibit on cheap evening dresses at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in 2014.
