Confused re virtualization, containers & virtual environments

I'm a bit confused about containers vs virtualization vs vagrant.

I've been using virtualbox for quite some time now and thus am pretty familiar with virtualization, but now while searching for VM's I see containers, vagrant and their branches like chef, docker,,,,,,,,

It's really got me confused and would really appreciate if I can get some guidance on this pls.
