does anyone know how to backup hypver-v with script without closing machines

Are you looking to take a snapshot via script or are you looking at doing a traditional backup of the entire virtual machine?

looking at a traditional backup of the entire vm's but vm's doesnt have to close when i backup

Emin -

This is probably serious overkill but have you considered using Microsoft Data Protection Manager 2010 to protect your Hyper-V based virtual machines? It will handle them with ease.

Or, were you able to develop a script that would do the trick?

Hi,

I have written an article where I use a script to copy the VHD file using VSS which lets you do the copy while the the VM is live.
