VMware Workstation 8 adds support for a lot of high end capabilities through a new hardware version for virtual machines -- version 8.

HD audio.
Bluetooth devices in a VM.
USB 3.0. This is a Linux only feature.
64 GB RAM in a VM.
8-way SMP in a VM
10 network adaptersi n a VM.

How do you or can you make use of these new features in your organization?

Yes, it has a lot of cool new feature but it requires a 64-bit machine. :(

Oh, I have the Dell T110 which is a 64-bit but I was commenting that I cannot use Workstation on my old machines.

Ah. Yeah... I have a couple of older servers laying around as well... Dell PowerEdge 2850s don't have support for Intel VT, so no good for a lab server.

I have one pretty nice server in my lab right now (Dell 2950) but would love another!

Yes, We can run VMware Workstation 8 as a server to share virtual machines with our teammates, department, or organization. VMware Workstation provides enterprise caliber control over user access.
