If you're running Windows Server 2008 or higher, you have a built in supported way to extend the size of your system partition. Both diskpart and the storage management GUI can achieve your goal. If you're running Windows Server 2003, on the other hand, you can't extend your boot volume unless you use a third party partition management tool.
