With the release of vSphere 5.1, VMware has seemingly taken a play from Microsoft and removed the shared storage requirement in a feature known as Enhanced vMotion. This seems designed to help simplify life for administrators and also eliminates a competitive threat from Microsoft's Shared Nothing Live Migration.

What do you think? Do you think this is a useful feature?
