Best iSCSI performance with single target?

Using the software initiator, a distributed switch with a dvPortGroup tagged for the storage vLAN, and a SAN which presents a single iSCSI target, how can I get the best performance? 

I can't use round robin MPIO since it's a vDS, and all links are 1Gbs....
