Scott Lowe -> What holds you back? (21.Oct.2010 10:56:55 PM)

The other day, one of our vendors dropped by the office with a story about a client that simply outright refused to even consider "new fangled" virtualization for either server and desktop workloads. There was no true business reason that the person didn't want to go down this road except that he was uncomfortable with what he considered an "eggs in one basket" approach. Obviously, when constructed correctly, a virtual environment can be even more reliable than a physical one, but it takes effort and experience to get to that comfort zone. For you, if you've held back in any area of virtualization, what has made you hold back? Were your workloads simply too big, did you not have adequate budget to build the right environment, or was it something else? Scott
