Here's a very interesting blog post about this upcoming feature of HA.  It will allow vCenter & HA to monitor the state of applications running within VMs, in addition to the VMs themselves.

That presents some cool options, like potentially doing away with OS clusters which cause you to lose vMotion, DRS and HA functionality currently.
