Hi,

in "Terminal Service Administration and Folder Redirection" Brian M. Posey says something which is really strange to me: you can either have offline files or remote administration, but not both. Even stranger there is no explanation of any reason why this should be like this, he just says "You cannot".

What I ask myself is what I'm doing all the day with my clients servers? They all are delivering offline files to the clients notebooks AND I'm remotely controlling them via RDP sessions.

Brian is capable of writing, he is one of the best authors to my opinion, but what does he want to say with that? Could someone please explain to me what I'm overlooking?

Thanks a lot and best regards,
Stefano

Stefano,

I'll forward your note on to Brien and ask him to clarify what he means.

Stefano,

I'm sorry it took a while to get a response... Brien was out of Internet range for a period of time.

Here is Brien's reply: In answer to the question, I donít know why Microsoft does things in this way, but here is a link to a short blog post that may help to clarify things: http://offlinefiles.blogspot.com/2010/09/offline-files-remote-desktop.html
